What is a Secure USB Drive and why should you use it?
Data is the DNA of an organisation, its most prized asset. USB Drives are used the world over to carry data around or to backup.
Usually these devices do not come with any protection. Whatever data is present on a stolen or lost USB drive can be easily read and manipulated by anyone who finds it. This presents a huge security risk for corporations that have intellectual property, customer data, classified information of national interest or just company secrets.
There are another type of USB keys available that come with some sort of password protection. These are not too difficult to hack. Once the password program is bypassed, the data that is stored on the drive can be easily read.
Encrypted Secure USB drives, ones like we sell, jumble up the data when its stored onto the USB drive. That’s encryption in simple terms. This function is done with the help of a crypto chip embedded inside the circuitry of the USB drive. The encryption is linked to a password that you set. Each time you want to access the drive, you are asked for that password. Only then can the data be unlocked. If in case the password program is bypassed, the data stored on the drive will not make any sense to the hacker, as its stored in an unreadable format.
These drives besides being UN-HACKABLE also come with additional features that are listed below.
